Oh yeah...Just got back from a fishing
trip to Delaware! Left Thursday, fished Friday and Saturday, and
returned today. What a great time! I went with a friend that I
haven't seen in over four years. It was great catching up,
reminiscing, and just spending time on the water, with nothing to do,
no place to go, no schedules but the tides. Just a really good
weekend. So, after all the pleasantries are out of the way, the
first question asked of a returning fisherman is “How did you do?”
My Fisherman's Answer: You know, catch
some, miss some, you should have seen the one that got away! Oh,
something really unusual though...I had a fish on the hook, and was
reeling it in when all of the sudden, the line starts spinning off
the reel, and after a fight, I start getting line back, and as my
catch nears the boat, I see that the fish has been supplanted
by....wait for it...A SHARK! Yeah, a shark ate the fish off my hook.
I made him pay though, got him into the boat, wrestled my hook out
of him, and smacked him on the head before sending him back into the
water! Yeah, and it didn't happen once, it happened TWICE! Two
times, a shark took the fish off my hook. TWO TIMES!
The sad truth: We were fishing with
live bait, minnows, and the only thing I caught was two (little) sand
sharks. No flounder. Not even a croaker, bluefish, sea
robin...nothing but the two little sand sharks.
I don't know about you, but the first
version is Way More Interesting!!!
